第一轮申报截止时间为:2015年6月30日;
第二轮申报截止时间为:2016年1月11日。

四、项目由日方负责遴选和资助,具体情况请登陆网站查阅:
http://www.tokyofoundation.org/sylff/support_programs/sra 。

五、申请人应仔细阅读项目要求,准备完整材料并准时提交。

六、其他参考信息:
- The purpose of SRA is to support Sylff fellows’ research activities abroad for their doctoral dissertations.
- The application is open for all current and former Sylff fellowship recipients who are currently enrolled in a PhD program at any university or institution of higher learning. This means that fellows who previously received a fellowship for master’s study and have since proceeded to a PhD program at another, non-Sylff institution are eligible for this program. (Unfortunately, master’s students are not eligible for SRA.)
- As for where they conduct their research, Sylff fellows can propose any organization; or depending on the nature of research, a host organization may not be required, provided a letter of reference is submitted as part of the application.
- Sylff fellows who are receiving a fellowship as an international research grant may combine their fellowship with an SRA grant to enrich and expand the original research plan.
The deadline for the first round of applications is June 30, 2015, and for the second round is January 11, 2016.

-----------2015-5-4 更新信息 :加州大学圣地亚哥分校(UCSD)欢迎我校研究生前往学习交流--------------

The School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) at University of California, San Diego has been a Sylff-endowed program for over 20 years. The Global Leadership Institute (GLI) in IR/PS attracts researchers and students from around the globe
who benefit from a supportive educational environment as they work towards their educational and professional goals. My name is Catherine Thomas-Smith, GLI Program Coordinator, and I am writing to you on behalf of Dr. Darla Wilson, GLI Director and contact
person for the Sylff Steering Committee. We would be grateful if you could share the information below with the Sylff Fellows at your University.
Since 2006 GLI has hosted 24 Sylff researchers representing ten different countries through the Fellows’ Mobility Program (FMP) and the Sylff Research Abroad (SRA) program, which currently supports Sylff Fellows to conduct academic
research related to their degree dissertations at other institutions abroad. Research activities such as data collection, interviews, fieldwork, and consultations with professors of the receiving institution can be implemented under this program.

The Tokyo Foundation receives applications two times per year and provides a maximum of $5,000.00USD per successful applicant. The Sylff Office welcomes applications from Fellows who want to conduct in-depth research to enhance
their degree dissertation. The award may be used to cover expenses such as international travel, tuition, visa fees, local transportation, insurance, living expenses, and research materials.
Sylff Research Abroad Fellows receive 50% off our regular GLI tuition (one academic quarter of approximately three months is $3,750.00 which can be prorated for shorter stays).
June 30, 2015 is the next application deadline (for grants in the Japanese fiscal year 2015: April 1, 2015 - March 31, 2016).
Here is a link to the SRA call for applications.
Sylff will announce their selection outcomes by August 18, 2015. Available GLI start dates thereafter include September 23, 2015 for the fall quarter, January 4, 2016 for the winter quarter, and March 23, 2016 for the spring quarter.

If you have any questions regarding the application or awards process please make sure to
contact the Tokyo Foundation Sylff office directly. If you are an awardee and are ready to start the application and enrollment process at GLI or have more questions regarding our program,
please contact meat
cts@ucsd.edu.
Please allow me to share a little information about Global Leadership Institute. Since 1989, we have provided an infrastructure for individuals seeking non-degree research and study.
